Flowers call out

These days of spring, it's expensive for me to step out of the house. Most of the stores have beautiful, colorful, flowering plants that reach out and make me pick them up and put them in my cart. Sometimes it is their brilliant colors, or it could be a first time view for me that acts as a magnet.
Yesterday, I came home with this beauty:
an Erysimum linifolium (flaxleaf wallflower)

as well as a bright orange, and more common
gerbera.
They don't like our still cold nights, so I bring
them inside.
I won a $25 gift certificate to a local nursery which I will use tomorrow. I can't wait.

It took the better part of my life to begin to understand the importance of being true to oneself.
By the time the clarity cleansed away the cluttered cobwebs of confusion, the scents of my decadence overwhelmed all sense.
Is this a glimpse of "the light at the end of the tunnel" for atheists?

Flamingos at the San Diego Zoo.
I visited my sister and friend in San Diego in early Feb. 2006. These are some pictures. In addition to going places, we had wonderful chats, games of Boggle, fun making Valentines cards with Betty's grandchildren and an inspiring time at the dance performance by Eveoke, expressing the pain, the joy, the exhaustion involved in being a single mom.

Getting Back to Card Making.
This is the first design I have made using teabag folding, which I saw at an Indoor Farmers Market Saturday in Corvallis. This design comprises 8 kite fodled papers, 4 of each design. I learned how from the web-site:
http://www.teabagfolding.circleofcrafters.com/.
I printed paper using one of their designs. I like folding and making cards, but I always have to retrim my little squares by an oonce (slightly less than 1/16 of an inch).
I used this card for my sister-in-law's birthday.
Background border colors made with water-color pencil, brushed slightly with wet brush.
